7000212Stephen Murray’s piece for SunBear Gallery at the Glasite meeting House in 2010. The Glasite Meeting House on Barony Street is in the news again.  It’s set to become a community cinema with it’s owners (SHBT) hoping to raise money for it’s refurbishment.  We have fond memories of the A-Listed building as it’s where we informally, initiated our artist-run gallery project ‘SunBear‘.  It was here that we exhibited former Turner Prize nominee Marvin Gaye Chetwynd‘s ‘Bat Opera’ paintings.  SunBear went on to exhibit a selection of prominent Scottish artists including Stephen Murray who recently responded to the legacy of the Glasgow Commonwealth games with his ‘Comedown’ (a bespoke figure of 8 velodrome).
